TVX Gold, Inc is a Canadian-based international gold mining company with a diverse portfolio of mining assets comprised of five existing operations in North and South America, including the soon-to-be-inaugurated Musselwhite Mine in Northern Ontario, several advanced stage projects in Europe and the Americas and the Kassandra Mines complex in Greece.

TVX Hellas SA - Gold Mining and Industrial was established in 1995 and is headquartered in Athens. The company purchased the Kassandra Mines for a sum of GRD 11 billion, following an international tender.
It was declared the highest bidder on 2/3/1995. On 21/12/1995, the company signed a contract with the "National Funds S.A" liquidation company together with the Greek government. The contract was ratified by the Greek Parliament, under Law 2436/1996.

TVX Hellas SA has undertaken, within the contractual framework:

  • the creation of a gold ore treatment unit in Olympiada,
  • the modernisation of the mines and its refining facilities,
  • a wide programme for the restoration and the protection of the environment.
This investment constitutes the largest private investment in Greece in the last decade. As approved by the European Union, it has been included in the Industry Business Program as part of the 2nd Community Support Framework.
